The Skilio TechSkills Challenge 2025 is open to youth aged 20 to 25 based in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Students, fresh graduates, and early-career professionals are all welcome!

🔹 What You’ll Do
Participants will showcase their ability to create seamless and engaging user experiences through intuitive design. This category emphasizes both visual aesthetics and user-centered problem solving.
🔹 Competition Phases
Elimination Round – Onboarding Flow Design (Online)
Receive a case study and design the onboarding flow of a new app. Submit a video explanation (max 5 minutes) of your design and thought process.
Semi-Final – Interactive Prototype (Online)
Develop an interactive prototype based on the same case study and explain your design process in a video (max 10 minutes).
National Final – Infographic Animation + Presentation (In-person)
Design an infographic animation for a regional campaign (within a given time frame) and present it live to a panel of judges.

• User Research & Insights: Identify user needs, pain points, and behaviors and translate them into actionable design insights.
• Journey Mapping: The clarity and completeness of your user flow from start to finish, showing how users navigate to achieve their goals.
• Visual Thinking: The creativity, consistency, and usability of your design choices, including layout, color, typography, and accessibility.
• Communication Clarity: How effectively you explain your design process, decisions, and trade-offs, both in your documentation and presentation.
🔹 What You’ll Do
Build functional, responsive, and creative web or mobile applications to solve real-world problems. This category tests coding skills, technical depth, and the ability to ship working software.
🔹 Competition Phases
Elimination Round – Algorithm & Coding Challenge (Online)
Solve a programming problem and submit your code along with a video (max 5 minutes) explaining your logic.
Semi-Final – Interactive Prototype (Online)
Based on the previous case study, explain the architecture and approach to a hackathon challenge in a video (max 10 minutes). Submit complete code and documentation.
National Final – Infographic Animation + Presentation (In-person)
Build a working feature within a limited time (1–2 hours) based on a new case study and present it live. A starter template will be provided with core components like UI and authentication.

• UI Craftsmanship: The quality of the interface design, attention to detail in visuals, and consistency with modern design standards.
• UX Flow & Responsiveness: The smoothness, intuitiveness, and responsiveness of the user experience across different devices and contexts.
• Problem Solving & Trade-offs: How effectively you approach challenges, handle edge cases, and explain decisions made under constraints.
• Innovation & Creativity: The originality and impact of your solution, and how it adds unique value compared to typical approaches.
• Communication Clarity: The ability to clearly present your process, reasoning, and technical details in a structured, understandable way.

Tackle real-world problems using data analysis, machine learning, and AI modeling. This category evaluates your ability to extract insights and build models with practical applications.

Elimination Round – Idea Submission (Online)
Using a case study, submit a brief proposal outlining your concept, including data understanding, analysis plan, and approach. Template will be provided.
Semi-Final – Development Phase (Online)
Develop your project, including model building, testing, and documentation. Submit your full code repository hosted on a platform (e.g., GitHub) for transparency.
National Final – Presentation (In-person)
Present your project live to the judging panel, focusing on clarity of approach and real-world impact.

• Feature Design Completion: The thoroughness and accuracy of your model design, including preprocessing, feature engineering, and alignment with the problem.
• UX Reasoning & Trade-offs: How well you justify your modeling decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and balance accuracy, interpretability, and usability.
• Visual Clarity & Consistency: The effectiveness of your charts, dashboards, or visual outputs in conveying insights clearly and consistently.
• Creativity & Lateral Thinking: The originality of your approach and ability to explore innovative methods beyond standard techniques.
• Presentation & Q&A Delivery: How clearly and confidently you explain your solution and respond to judges’ questions.
• Design File Readiness: The quality, structure, and reproducibility of your submitted files, ensuring they are well-documented and usable.
The Skilio TechSkills Challenge 2025 is an individual competition consisting of three rounds.
Participants will receive a real-world challenge via email based on a case study. You'll be asked to submit:
A slide deck outlining your approach, process, and reasoning
A video explanation describing your solution (to be included in the slide deck)
Relevant supporting files (to be included in the slide deck)
Top 30 participants of each category will advance to the Semi-Final
Top 30 participants will receive a new challenge following the previous case study to develop their solution with limited time. You'll be asked to submit:
A revised slide deck and updated supporting files
A video explanation describing your solution (to be included in the slide deck)
Top 10 participants of each category will advance to the National Final
Top 10 finalists of each category will compete in-person at a university in their country. You will:
Solve a real-time challenge within 3–4 hours
Present your solution live to a panel of judges
Answer Q&A questions on your decision-making and approach
Winners across 3 categories will win cash prizes, Skilio scholarships, and a 3D2N trip to Singapore

Yes! As long as you are currently studying or residing in one of the three countries, you are eligible to participate.
No, each participant can only apply for one category. Choose the one that best aligns with your strengths and interests!
You will be notified via your registered email at the end of each round. Make sure you provide a valid email address when signing up for the competition!
Yes! The National Final will be held in person at a local university in your country, with the exact venue details and format to be announced at a later stage of the competition.
